Jeremy Warmsley plays New York City TONIGHT!!!
Alright NYC peeps, TONIGHT (September 23rd) you have a great opportunity to catch Jeremy Warmsley LIVE at Pianos. He’s on at 8pm and there’s no indication that the show is 21+, unlike a week ago when Johnny Flynn graced the same stage you young kids are in luck!!
It’s only a matter of time before the world catches on to this man’s genius (seriously, have you heard The Art of Fiction??? it is LONG overdue!), so do yourself a favor and head out to Pianos tonight. Then one day when he’s selling out bigger venues you can be one of those snobs who’s all “Ugh, I remember when I saw him play this tiny venue and only a couple of us were there because we really cared. Noah and the Whale return to the US this October
As previously mentioned, Noah and the Whale’s latest album/film The First Days of Spring will get its official U.S. release on October 6th thanks to Cherrytree/Interscope. After a quick jaunt around the UK, the band will head over to our side of the Atlantic for a handful of dates in support of the album/film:

Now I must wrestle with the uncertainty of whether or not my finances will allow me to spend a night dancing to the tunes of my favorite Canadians, but such is the life of a broke college kid. If it’s going to take them another three years to come around, I can give up groceries for a week and splurge. So worth it.

I Really Like You (from Hind Hind Legs) – Once again, I prefer this version to the one on My Best Friend Daniel. Wait for the “FAKE FAKE ABSOLUTELY FAKE FAKE FAKE ABSOLUTELY FAKE”. So good.

In case you didn’t catch it from the subject, Good Shoes are baaaaaaaaaaack! The band have been away writing and recording their second album, but they’ve finally emerged with a taste of what’s to come via a free download of “The Way My Heart Beats”.

It’s reassuring that they still sound like the same band I fell in love with almost three years ago, but they’ve kicked it up a notch. Some things have changed, however, and that’s the lineup. Earlier this year, bassist Joel Cox left and was replaced by Bob Matthews (hence that unfamiliar face in the fourth polaroid above!). Perhaps it’s his voice I hear accompanying Rhys on “The Way My Heart Beats”? (Also, when the song begins, is anyone else reminded of “Don’t Look Back Into the Sun” just a teeny tiny bit? Am I crazy?)
