Can’t make it to Pitchfork Fest? Don’t sweat it, watch online!

The Pitchfork Music Festival is officially upon us! Yep, THIS weekend (July 16th-18th) thousands of badly dressed hipsters with ironic facial hair who haven’t bathed in weeks and only eat vegan food but don’t mind smoking Parliaments will descend upon Chicago’s Union Park for three days of humidity and heat stroke. Oh, and music* of course!

Don’t have tickets yet? Some passes for Friday are still available, so get on that ASAP. Saturday and Sunday day-passes have SOLD OUT. However, Pitchfork has confirmed that a very very limited number of passes for each day will be released this week. These tickets will go on sale THURSDAY JULY 15th at 11am at the festival site AKA Union Park. So if you want them, get there early!

For all the folks who can’t make it, turn those frowns upside down! Pitchfork will be streaming the festival online at http://www.pitchforkmusicfestival.com/media.php starting Friday. You too will be able to enjoy the likes of LCD Soundsystem, Pavement, Modest Mouse, Lightning Bolt, and more!

For more news, visit the festival’s official website.

*This also marks the first year Pitchfork has a COMEDY STAGE. Friday on the Balance Stage, you can enjoy the comedic stylings of Hannibal Buress(!), Wyatt Cenac(!), Michael Showalter(!!!!!), and Eugene Mirman (!!!!). Top notch.

The last of Noah and the Whale you’ll see in a while…

Noah and the Whale have been busy working on their third album, all the while making time to play some festival dates here and there. However, this Saturday July 10th at Somerset House will be your last chance to catch the boys live before they hide away in California to begin their final album session with producer Jason Lader.

Some tickets are still available, so grab ‘em now! Who knows, you might be lucky enough to hear some new material like this song they played recently at Manchester Cathedral:

If this song is anything to go on, album #3 is going to blow us away! Love.

Summer Camp EP coming in September!

Summer Camp are slated to release Young, the London band’s first EP, featuring forthcoming single “Round the Moon.” As with previous single “Ghost Train,” the EP and 7″ will be released through Moshi Moshi and, let’s face it, they will probably sell out during pre-order yet again. Hot cakes!

Young tracklisting: Round The Moon / Was It Worth It / Veronica Sawyer / Why Don’t You Stay / Ghost Train / Jake Ryan —- “Round The Moon” tracklisting: A – Round the Moon / B – It’s Summer

Recently, NME started a “Behind the Buzz” video series where they’re pretty much hoping to get the low down on some of the most talked about new artists. The first episode featured Summer Camp’s Jeremy Warmsley and Elizabeth Sankey going video shopping. Check ittt:
