Summer Camp! Live! Video!
I don’t know about you, but ever since Summer Camp started playing live shows I’ve been kind of curious as to how the band translated their lo-fi synth pop tunes sprinkled with 80s-film samples to a live setting. Then again, I’m a nerd.
The band have just finished a UK tour with Slow Club and lo and behold some cool peeps captured some videos!
I spy some bitchin’ overalls.
You can’t quite see the band, but it’s the full song and the audio quality is pretty good.
A new song? It’s not on their myspace or “Ghost Train” single. It sounds awesome.
Also, please watch Slow Club tear it upppppppppppppp
Album #2. I need it.
PEGGY SUE OVERLOAD!!!
It’s been a busy few weeks for Peggy Sue, so let’s recap the goods shall we?!
I think it’s been a year since this was recorded, but Daytrotter have finally unleashed Peggy Sue’s session and it’s beautiful! If you haven’t already, head on over to Daytrotter.com and download 4 tracks for FREE (“Watchman”/”Yo Mama”/”Long Division Blues”/”February Snow”).
Latest single “Watchman” was released two weeks ago, you can still purchase the 7″ vinyl through Wichita!
Watch a lovely session Peggy Sue recorded for Bandwidth, including performances of “Hatstand Blues,” “Milk & Blood,” and “Watchman”:
And finally, go out and buy Peggy Sue’s debut album Fossils and Other Phantoms in stores today!! Or you can order it online. Truly a great record. If you’d like a preview, you can stream the album on Clash Music and read short track-by-track blurbs from Katy and Rosa!
They’ll be hitting the road again in May, check out the dates and make plans to catch them live!
The Bundles album + UK dates
Do you love Jeffrey Lewis? Do you love his brother Jack? How about Kimya Dawson? Anders Griffen? Karl Blau? Well, then The Bundles might be the band for you.

They’ve all worked together at some point, even recording some demos together almost ten years ago. Now, they have decided it’s time to make something of those demos and you can buy their album from K Records. You’ll notice that some songs (“Shamrock Glamrock”/”Ishalicious”) managed to find their way onto individual setlists in the last decade.
They’ve already got some shows around the UK (of course) scheduled for May:
May 15 – Brudenell Social Club – Leeds, ENGLAND
May 16 – ABC2 – Glasgow, SCOTLAND
May 17 – The Deaf Institute – Manchester, ENGLAND
May 18 – Trinity Arts Center – Bristol, ENGLAND
May 19 – Union Chapel – London, ENGLAND
May 20 – Komedia – Brighton, ENGLAND
The Maccabees + Johnny Bramwell live in Manchester
Recently, The Maccabees have been playing a cover of I Am Kloot’s “Because” during their live sets. See. This past Saturday at their show in Manchester (as part of the Shockwaves NME tour), the boys got to play “Because” live with none other than Mr. Johnny Bramwell. Obviously I wasn’t there, but by the looks of things it was pretty epic:
