NEW MYSTERY JETS TRACK!!!

Dear friends, I don’t know about you but I’ve been waiting –mighty patiently, I must add– for a new Mystery Jets record for what seems like forever. This year, we will all finally be able to get our grubby little hands on their third LP and all the fun begins today!

Zane Lowe will premiere “Flash a Hungry Smile” as the Hottest Record in the World tonight and then the track will be available for download on Mystery Jets’ official website! So to recap: LISTEN TO ZANE LOWE then head on over to MYSTERYJETS.COM and grab that track!

The days of listening to live clips with subpar sound are over. Excitement!

For those lucky enough to be in the UK this summer, you have the chance to catch the boys in action at Reading & Leeds (MAIN STAGE!!), Dot to Dot Festival, Glastonbury, and a special gig at Somerset House July 8th. For more details and all that jazz, visit their official myspace.

New Johnny Flynn track + album news

It’s been about two weeks since Johnny Flynn’s new single “Kentucky Pill” (from upcoming album Been Listening) debuted on Radio 1 and Zane Lowe named it “Hottest record in the World.” So I’ve spent about two weeks searching the corners of the internet trying to find said track and have myself a listen (thank you BBC iplayer for hating America!). My search has finally come to an end as J-Flynn is giving “Kentucky Pill” away as a free download. Snap!

The track is lively and vibrant, jam packed with horns and percussion that complement Flynn’s vocals perfectly. The single will be released on limited edition 7″ vinyl on May 31st. Have a listen below and click the arrow below ‘info’ to download!

If “Kentucky Pill” is anything to go on, Been Listening will not be a huge departure from A Larum but rather a significant growth in Flynn as a songwriter and musician. The album will be released June 1st on Transgressive Records in the UK. (North American released TBD)

Tracklisting:
1. Kentucky Pill
2. Lost and Found
3. Churlish May
4. Been Listening
5. Barnacled Warship
6. Sweet William Part Two
7. The Water (featuring Laura Marling)
8. Howl
9. Agnes
10. Amazon Love
11. The Prizefighter and The Heiress

We Are Scientists love you.

We Are Scientists took to Twitter today asking fans to help promote the release of “Rules Don’t Stop” on iTunes by simply retweeting their tweets. Simple enough, no? As a thank you, Keith and Chris recorded a video dedicated to their helpful tweeters:

If you’re in the UK, you can head on over to iTunes and purchase “Rules Don’t Stop.” If you’re in North American, you’ll have to wait till next week. Bummer, I know. But in the meantime, enjoy the awesome video for “Rules Don’t Stop”! I can’t find the words to describe its awesomeness, so I’ll use theirs:

With the budget of a 30 Seconds To Mars clip, the raw fx firepower of James Cameron’s Avatar, and the intensively rehearsed, flawless timing of an OKGO video, the new music vid from We Are Scientists proves once and for all that rules — ahem — truly do not stop these New York City dynamos.

So great!
