FANFARLO PREMIERE VIDEO, CATHY CONTINUES TO BE MY HERO
Many moons ago, Fanfarlo lent their musical genius to the second installment of the acting train wreck that is The Twilight Saga. Today, we get a nice little video for “Atlas” that was filmed backstage at a Sydney gig last year.
The band are currently writing their second album set to be released this year. May we be so lucky!
REGINA SPEKTOR ‘LIVE IN LONDON’ DVD SCREENINGS
On November 22nd, Regina Spektor is set to release her first ever concert film and recording, Live in London, on CD, DVD, Blu-ray, vinyl, and digital formats. Though filmed primarily at London’s Hammersmith Apollo Theatre, the film will include concert footage spanning Spektor’s 2009 winter UK tour in support of Far.
Live in London is dedicated to Daniel Cho, Regina’s cellist who passed away while on tour this summer. For a glimpse of the DVD, check out ‘Folding Chair’ below!!
The live band really did at that extra oomph to her songs, didn’t they? So good! Anyway, you can take a gander at the 23-song tracklisting and pre-order this bad boy (including limited edition bundles!!) over on Regina’s official webstore.
As a special bonus treat, there will be screenings of the film in select cities November 19th through November 25th!! Chicagoans, you can head over to Lincoln Hall at 9pm on November 22nd for a free viewing! For screenings in other towns, check out CINEMA PURGATORIO.
New tune from Generationals!
Me professing my love for Generationals on this blog is nothing new, so I’ll spare you the fangirling and get right to the goods! The band have recently released the title-track off their upcoming EP Trust, released November 9th courtesy of Park The Van, and it’s the PERFECT song to help us all segue into the cold, harsh winter after three months of sun and fun.*
In true Generationals fashion, “Trust” is laden with bright guitars, a catchy bass line, and vocals that sound sweet as saccharine. It all comes together so wonderfully, creating a warming, notalgia-inducing pop song, cleverly veiling lyrics that hint at something far darker.

*Here in the midwest, we seem to skip over fall and go straight from summer to winter. It’s really a shame, fall happens to be my favorite time of year.
New video for “Young Lions”
It’s been a video-heavy day here at You Don’t Spell It, hasn’t it? Last one for today, promise. It’s a good one though!
Peter Szewczyk, a friend of The Maccabees, made a video for the song “Young Lions” off their album Wall of Arms. Watch it below, it’s heartwarming and awesome. Just like the song.
Summer Camp EP coming in September!

Summer Camp are slated to release Young, the London band’s first EP, featuring forthcoming single “Round the Moon.” As with previous single “Ghost Train,” the EP and 7″ will be released through Moshi Moshi and, let’s face it, they will probably sell out during pre-order yet again. Hot cakes!
Young tracklisting: Round The Moon / Was It Worth It / Veronica Sawyer / Why Don’t You Stay / Ghost Train / Jake Ryan —- “Round The Moon” tracklisting: A – Round the Moon / B – It’s Summer
Recently, NME started a “Behind the Buzz” video series where they’re pretty much hoping to get the low down on some of the most talked about new artists. The first episode featured Summer Camp’s Jeremy Warmsley and Elizabeth Sankey going video shopping. Check ittt:
