Peggy Sue news!!

Peggy Sue’s second single “Watchman” from their upcoming album Fossils and Other Phantoms (Wichita Recordings) will be released March 22nd, only two weeks before the official release of their album in the UK, Canada, AAAAAND America! Florence and the Machine US tour!

Florence and the Machine are doing a five city jaunt around the US, leading up to a performance at Coachella:

APRIL 2010

09 - Terminal 5 (New York, NY)
10 – Phoenix Concert Theatre (Toronto, ON)
12 – House of Blues (Chicago, IL)
14 – Commodore Ballroom (Vancouver, BC)
15 – Showbox At The Market (Seattle, WA)
18 – Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival (Indio, CA)

Alright, so it’s only five cities and shouldn’t actually count as a proper “US tour” but I’m pretty pumped that Chicago was not forgotten as per usual. Sure, the House of Blues isn’t my favorite place in the world but beggars can’t be choosers and Flo is kind of a big deal these days so what can you expect?

Here’s hoping ticket prices are reasonable!

UPDATE: So with all the fees, tickets are $29. Yeah, I don’t think so. I wish they would have tried to push her in America last year on a smaller scale. She could have played Empty Bottle or Double Door and tickets would NOT have been over 20 bucks.

Mumford & Sons get a US release

Sigh No More, the UK band’s debut album, will get be officially released on our side of the world on February 16th thanks to Glassnote.

I’m sure folks in NYC and LA can expect some shows. Midwesterners, we’ll have to wait and see but let’s not hold our breath. Just sayin’.

So Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin are playing Schubas this Thursday (January 28th) and I just realized I won’t be able to make it thanks to a mandatory class meeting. FML, I haven’t been able to catch them live in almost two years!

But just because I can’t make it doesn’t mean you should miss out. Tickets are only $10 bucks SO BUY THEM NOW or get them at the door for $12. AND it’s all ages. You can watch Phil’s crazy high jumps in person, they’re intense (2:32) :

Mystery Jets are touring Europe, you should go.
