Maccabees overload!

Let’s recap a week of Maccabees-goodness, shall we?
Last Monday, a brand new XFM session made its way online and into our ears. If you haven’t checked it out yet, go listen right now! The session includes “No Kind Words” and “Young Lions” (which seriously just gets better and better every time you listen, it’s insane) as well as “Love You Better” (the guitars!!!!) and “Kiss and Resolve” (please disregard the mislabeling from XFM) from the upcoming album. GO LISTEN.
The band has also released an official tracklisting for Wall of Arms, due out on May 4th:
Love You Better
One Hand Holding
Can You Give It
Young Lions
Wall Of Arms
No Kind Words
Dinosaurs
Kiss And Resolve
William Powers
Seventeen Hands
Bag Of Bones
It’s nice to see “William Powers” making an appearance. I’ve yet to hear “Dinosaurs”, “Wall of Arms”, or “Bag of Bones”, but my goodness it is going to be great hearing proper versions of “One Hand Holding” and “Seventeen Hands”. Semi-decent-sound-quality live clips can only hold you over for so long, really. Sadly, “The Pound is Strong/Accordion” didn’t make the cut. I had a feeling that would happen. Shame, it really is one incredible song. My fingers are crossed that it will make it as a b-side on the “Love You Better” single out April 27th, which you can pre-order now!
Which brings me to today: Steve Lamacq had the exclusive premiere of “Love You Better” on his BBC Radio 1 show today. If you missed it, you can go listen online. or you can get my rip of the song here: The Maccabees – Love You Better Deleted! New link here
This and “No Kind Words” solidify that Wall of Arms is going to be incredible.
Also, don’t forget that their UK tour starts this week…
